Denmark and Sweden sealed their qualification for the semi-finals of the Euro handball by winning their main round matches in Hamburg on Sunday.

The Danish world champions, winners of Norway (29-23), are even assured of first place in Group II thanks to a new XXL performance from their goalkeeper Emil Nielsen (15 saves, 39%).

Sweden, in a shock that looked like a decisive match, defeated Portugal (40-33). Title holders, the Swedes, led by their Montpellier winger Lucas Pellas (10/13), have a good chance of finding France, currently at the top of Group I, in the last four.

The eight goals of Seleçao center-half Martim Costa, revelation and best director of the tournament (46), were not enough for the Portuguese.

Danish right-back Mathias Gidsel is right on his heels (42) after playing the entire match against Norway.
