A 76-year-old pedestrian was hit by a truck in Hamburg-Hammerbrook and fatally injured. She was dragged along for meters on Thursday morning, the police and fire brigade said. The woman died at the scene of the accident.
According to the police, the truck stopped at a traffic light on Amsinckstraße in Hamburg-Hammerbrook around nine o’clock. When restarting, the accident happened after the woman stepped onto the road for reasons that are still unclear.
A pastor from the fire brigade, a 3D scanner and the police helicopter “Libelle” were also on duty, and the accident area was blocked off extensively. These road closures have since been lifted. The investigation into the accident was still ongoing.
