Denmark, for its entry into the Euro handball tournament, defeated the Czech Republic (23-14) after being hung up for thirty minutes on Thursday in Munich in a match on the first day of the group stage.

Unlike Sweden which played against Bosnia-Herzegovina (29-20) in Mannheim, like Norway against Poland (32-21), in Berlin.

It took a second period and the entry of former Nantes player Emil Nielsen into the Danish cages for the world champions to erase the Czechs, still in contact at half-time.

Nielsen, who entered in the 25th place in place of an unsuccessful Niklas Landin (2 saves on 11 shots), disgusted his opponents (13 saves, 72%). The other Landin brother piled up four goals (4/4) in the Danish highlight, the 7-1 inflicted after returning from the locker room.

On the Swedish side, it was Barcelona winger Hampus Wanne, author of 9 goals, who launched the reigning European champions into the tournament against the Bosnians. In the Norwegian ranks, Sander Sagosen was the most prolific scorer (6) with many attempts (12 shots).

It’s the turn of the Spanish finalists to enter the fray on Friday (8:30 p.m.) in Mannheim for a clash against Croatia.
