Yesterday, agents from Cazorla’s Local Police had to intervene to save a car stuck in a street of the municipality. It had been going in an unintended direction, and it finally reached a point that it couldn’t move forward or backward due to the narrow passage in the Hoz Alta below the Yedra castle.
Given that the vehicle’s bodywork was rubbing against the walls of both houses, it had to be removed using a screwdriver to the millimeter. The English-language steering wheel makes it even more difficult. Materials Castillo, Gruas Cazorla were part of the rescue effort.
Agents searched social media to see if the car had entered the prohibited street because of an oversight by the driver or a GPS problem. In Cazorla, where a car was found hanging from the edge of a ravine last September after its driver failed to follow the GPS directions to reach the hotel. Because of the terrain, rescue efforts on the vehicle took many hours.
Another wedged
A driver was left trapped in Balcon de Zabaleta after a similar error in his navigation system months before. There was no doubt that the driver hadn’t missed any signal. Instead, his GPS had led him straight into a trap. To get out of this jam, he needed assistance.
Cazorla police caution against navigators saying that although it helps get to the destination, our eyes and traffic signals are responsible to make sure we do it safely and sound.
