Spanish La Liga has dropped plans for a season match in the UNITED states in January. It happens, because FC Barcelona has withdrawn its support for the project.

And according to the plan, the FC Barcelona 26. January have played an topkamp against Girona in Miami, Florida. However, it now appears to be cancelled.
– From the beginning, we have said that participation in the fighting abroad is voluntary. If FC Barcelona does not want to participate, then the match is not settled at the agreed time, write the Spanish league in a press release.
According to the Catalan team has withdrawn, because there was not agreement among all the parties in the agreement.

The original agreement between La Liga and the Relevent went in the first place only on one single match per season, but according to several Spanish media, the idea is to increase the number of matches over several years.
A problem for the La Liga has, among other things has been to get permission from the Spanish football federation to settle-ever third place finish in the abroad. The federation has not been a strong supporter of the new format.
There have been concerns about the more legal aspects, questions about tv-rights, as well as the influence of the foreign matches will have for the other 18 clubs in La Liga.
