BERLIN(Ekstra Bladet): Here at the film festival in Berlin is verdensstjernen Pierce Brosnan, the current in the film ‘A Long Way Down’, where he plays a tv host who will commit suicide, because he has been sexually together with a only 15-year-old girl. And now despises his wife him, and his daughters will not see him. Pierce Brosnan reveals that he recorded the suicide-the film in the months before his 41-year-old daughter Charlotte Emily died of cancer in June last year.
– I recorded the movie in a very difficult time. It was while my daughter was very ill with cancer, and I was recording shortly before her death. It has definitely affected the way I played the role, and maybe it has even been good for me, that I recorded just such a role before her death, tells Pierce Brosnan here, in Berlin, and adds:
– My character in the film was very close to the person, I was just at the time. We were almost the same person, ” says Brosnan, who also tells that it was his irish catholic background, who was instrumental in that he got through the grief after her daughter’s death.

My faith has helped me
– the Belief in something greater has always helped me and got me to focus on the important things in life: My family, skuespilleriet and my hobby as a painter.
About his character in the film, the suicidal tv host, tells Brosnan that he thought much about what it really is for some feelings that can get a man to commit suicide.
– What can get a man to want to throw himself from a high-rise building. How desperate can you really be.
In the movie ‘A Long Way Down’ meets Pierce Brosnan, however, three other people who would commit suicide simultaneously with him. More must not be divulged here.

Brosnans first wife also died of cancer
It is in fact not the first time that Pierce Brosnan loses a close family member to cancer. His first wife Cassandra also died of cancer 22 years ago. And both Bronans first wife and his daughter both died of ovarian cancer.
Shortly after her daughter’s death in 2013, said Pierce Brosnan, the following:
28. June went my darling daughter Charlotte Emily passed on to eternal life. She lost the fight against cancer in the ovaries. She was surrounded by her husband Alex, children Isabella and Lucas and her brothers Christopher and Sean. Charlotte fought cancer with grace and humanity, courage and dignity. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beautiful dear girl. We pray for her and that the cure for this horrible disease will be just around the corner. We thank everyone for their heartfelt condolences, said Brosnan at the time.
