The town of Taillis in Ille-et-Vilaine is gearing up to host an exciting event this Saturday, June 15, 2024. The Kerwan and Nathéo association is organizing the first edition of its “1000 motorcycles” gathering. The motorcycle ride will cover a route of 140 kilometers starting from Taillis at 2 p.m. and returning around 5 p.m.

Two partner associations, Route 44 and Freerider49, are participating in this event. The Mayor of Taillis, Michel Sauvage, along with the entire municipal team, and Marie-France de Maymard, the owner of the Château de Taillis, are supporting this event. The château will host the parking for all the motorcycles on its grounds.

Erwan Lhommelais, the father of Nathéo and president of the association, expressed gratitude towards the members of the bureau and volunteers for their essential contribution to the project. The association aims to raise funds to cover the medical expenses for Kerwan, 14, and Nathéo, 9, who are both suffering from a rare genetic disorder known as microdeletion.

During the event, there will be demonstrations of first aid techniques by the young firefighters from Saint-Ouen-des-Alleux. Various vehicles, including an old fire truck that served in the streets of Vitré and Rennes, will be on display. A musical meal will be hosted near the football field, and the motorcycle ride will be escorted by the Vitré gendarmerie.

A night market will kick off at 4:30 p.m. with the option to enjoy food on-site. In the evening, a concert by Dirty Old Mat is scheduled from 9-9:30 p.m. for a duration of 2.5 hours. Participants can track the expenses incurred through the funds raised during the event.

For those interested in participating, the motorcycle ride will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, in Taillis, covering a distance of 150 km. Registration is available on Helloasso starting from 5€. Additionally, there will be a market with exhibitors, a display of customized trucks, and the concert by Dirty Old Mat.
