Billions of cicadas expected to emerge from hiding in the states Virgina, West Virginia and North Carolina in the coming weeks.
They have been not less than 17 years under the ground.
But now they are coming forward in swarms of up to 1.5 million per acre.

They live in two to four weeks, before they die, but before then they can reach to do great damage to trees and other plants.
