Today is Friday, May 20th. The pre-registration period to register for the next academic school year 2022-23 closes at the Official School of Languages. It is located at the IES Nuestra Senora de la Cabeza. However, Mery Lama, its director, stated that applications will still be accepted “as long there is space.”

The Language School’s directors organized open days to promote their services and to raise awareness about the importance of learning multiple languages. The director said that the school is a public centre, which means the costs are reasonable. He also stated that the school offers English and French classes and has set out to expand in its third year. This School of Languages has more than 200 students. Lamas reminded that the official gazette of the Junta de Andalucia (BOJA) regulates the admission process. Teachings are held alternately on Monday and Wednesday. They take place from 4:15 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., and from 7:45 to 9:00 p.m.,” stated Lamas. The person in charge claimed that they were promised improvements and expanded facilities.

Functioning

Alma Camara, the mayor of Education, visited the facilities last Wednesday to see the Official School of Languages. He stated that it was inaugurated in 2019 “after a strong request from our government team”. She said that it was fair that Andujar had an Official School of Languages. Camara was very proud of the active role played by members of the educational service in the city. Camara also spoke about the education that students receive. The councilor stated, “Because learning languages today is very important.”
