Voka Mechelen-Kempen has a new president. After more than 1,000 days, Ronny Van Broekhoven passes on his mandate to Claudia De Moor, the manager of V-Sure in Lier. De Moor is now the first female president of the Voka Chamber.

Claudia De Moor, along with her brother Marc, runs V-Sure, formerly known as Vosschemie. She is currently the president of ‘Voka Local Neteland’ and one of the leaders of Lier4Business. Last year, entrepreneurs voted her as the ‘Strongest Entrepreneur in the Mechelen Region’, an award given by ‘Made In’.

“The entrepreneurs described me as a true entrepreneur, someone who can be a sounding board, with a human approach and contagious enthusiasm. I resonate with those descriptions,” says De Moor. “I have experienced Voka giving me a push at various points in my career. I want to pass that on. I want to help as many entrepreneurs as possible experience that boost. Anyone who knows me knows that I have been one of the biggest Voka ambassadors for years. I will now take that to the next level.”

“With the entire team at Voka Mechelen-Kempen, we want to thank Ronny for the past years. When Ronny took over in 2021, ‘rapid test’, ‘quarantine’, and ‘party spirit’ were still buzzwords. We went straight from the COVID crisis to the energy crisis. It was a turbulent period, but together we made a difference for thousands of entrepreneurs,” says Tom Laveren, managing director of Voka Mechelen-Kempen. “With Claudia on board, we want to do that again. In a period of more certainty and stability. That’s what we aim for. And to further develop our region into the strongest grower in Flanders, as we have done in the past 10 years.”

This move marks a significant milestone for Voka Mechelen-Kempen, as Claudia De Moor takes on the role of president, paving the way for a new era of leadership and growth. With her experience as a successful entrepreneur and dedication to supporting others in the business community, De Moor is poised to bring fresh perspectives and initiatives to Voka Mechelen-Kempen.

As the first female president of the Voka Chamber, Claudia De Moor’s appointment not only signifies progress towards gender equality in leadership positions but also highlights the importance of diversity and inclusivity in business organizations. Her commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering a positive business environment bodes well for the future of Voka Mechelen-Kempen and the broader business community in the region.

In her new role, De Moor aims to build on the accomplishments of her predecessor and work towards creating more opportunities for growth and innovation in the region. With a focus on collaboration, mentorship, and advocacy, she hopes to inspire and support entrepreneurs to reach their full potential and contribute to the economic development of Mechelen-Kempen.
