The comedian Volodimir Selenski went to a forecast, as the winner of the first round of the presidential election in Ukraine. He’ll kick at the 21. April in a runoff vote against the incumbent head of state, Petro Poroshenko, announced a merger of three research institutes on Sunday evening in Kiev shortly after the closing of the polling stations.
The post-election surveys indicate that Selenski received more than 30 percent of the vote and Poroshenko just under 18 percent. The former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko came, therefore, with a good 14 percent. All three are considered to be Pro-European. Selenski plays in the TV series “servant of the people,” a teacher who is unexpectedly elected President. Critics accuse the 41-Year-old, real-life political experience is lacking to him. The comedian, especially among young voters, popular, had said in an Interview with the news Agency AFP, he learn already for his possible new role: “Finally, I don’t want to look like an Idiot.”
The 53-year-old Poroshenko has ruled Ukraine since the Maidan protests in 2014. After the fall of his Kremlin predecessor, Viktor Yanukovych faithful, he promised that Ukraine is stronger to the West, fight against corruption and to end the armed conflict in the East.
