“The confidence drops for the Swedish hospital”
“The annual national sjukvårdsbarometern to capture the population’s view of the Swedish health – and medical care. 41 000 people have answered the questionnaire, which is described as an important part of the basis for the improvement work such as health care need to go through, both locally and nationally.”
“– It is a very important basis for us to continue to develop the health care system. Healthcare is a förtroendebransch, ” says Anders Henriksson, senior vice chairman of Sweden’s Municipalities and County councils (SKL) and the social democratic municipal commissioner in Kalmar.”
“But the result of the study of 2018 is largely not a cheerful reading and the numbers turn down in several areas compared with 2017. The most central question, the proportion of people who respond that they have access to the care they need, reducing by 3 percentage points to 81 percent.”
“We must take it seriously and short queues and see how healthcare can be as close to patients as possible,” says Henriksson.”
“What of confidence in the care services says six out of ten, or 61 per cent, that they have fairly or very great confidence in the care nationally. It is a number which is on the same level as in 2017. 39 per cent respond that they do not know, or have fairly little or very little trust for health care.”
“there are also major differences between different parts of the country and there seems to be a geographical pattern. The greatest confidence regions Jönköping and Kalmar, with 74 and 72 per cent, while at least two regions in northern Sweden, Västernorrland, and Norrbotten, with 51 and 54 percent. They differ all differ significantly from the national average.”
“– I think you have bigger bemanningsutmaningar in the north of Sweden and difficult to recruit to primary care. I think that it lands in that the conditions are different, ” says Henriksson.”
“While confidence nationally is unchanged so decreases the confidence of the hospitals and health clinics by 2 percentage points in both the blood to 67 hospitals 58% of health centers.”
“What on waiting times so believe less than half of the respondents, 45 per cent, waiting times for visits and treatment at the hospitals in the region are reasonable, a decline of 5 percentage points since the last poll. The least satisfied are the people in the region Västra Götaland and the most happy people once again in Jönköping and Kalmar.”
“the Proportion who think that waiting times are reasonable at health centers has also decreased, from 63 per cent in 2017 58% 2018.”
” I think it has a connection to availability. And that is why it is so crucial to shortening queues, and adjusts the care even better for patients ‘needs,” says Henriksson.”
“as the Swedish population on average becomes older, the higher requirements to be imposed on health care. Henriksson is convinced that it will cope with the pressure, and he describes the development of the healthcare field now, which is exciting, especially as regards technical progress.”
“– It means, for example, for me as a patient that I’ll be able to book my times, follow my care have my medical records available on the a good way and have the whole care closer to me. With new technology, we can ensure that you as a patient receive more treatment directly in the home. There are really exciting opportunities to modernise.”
“Health – and sjukvårdsbarometern is a national survey designed to capture the population’s view of the Swedish health – and medical care.”
“the Survey was conducted during the period april–may and October–november 2018. A total of 41 090 people all over the country have responded to the survey.”
“the research Firm CMA Researchu002FOrigo Group has conducted the survey on behalf of all regions. The work is coordinated by the Swedish association of local authorities and regions (SALAR).”
