Construmat returns stronger than ever. The Fira de Barcelona construction show celebrates its 23rd edition between May 21 and 23 after inaugurating a new stage in 2023, when it left behind the dark years of Covid and was able to deploy its full potential as the most representative and transversal of the sector in Spain.

The congress plans to grow this year by 50% in both surface area and exhibition offering, with the participation of 300 companies and more than 600 brands. The event will occupy more than 10,000 square meters in pavilion 2 of the Gran Via fairgrounds and will accommodate practically the entire industry.

Machinery and tools, industrialized construction, facades and roofs, insulation, urban planning and outdoor space, design and interior design, flooring and coverings, bathrooms, BIM and ICT for the project and the work, kitchens, lighting, energy management and collection, enclosures, carpentry, locksmithing or sun protection will be some of the segments represented.

“We present a very useful show for all construction professionals, where they can find the latest solutions and innovations,” highlights Roger Bou, director of Construmat.

Among the confirmed companies that will show their latest developments are leading firms such as Ausa, Cementos Molins, Drutex, Durmi, Encofrados Alsina, Evowall Technology, Fischer, Haier Iberia, Holcim España, Hormipresa Nec, Indalsu, Jung, K-Line, KLH Massivholz , Nibe, PMP/Pret-a-porter Casas/Khanvian, Roca, Saltoki, Schnell, Technal or TQ Tecnol.

In parallel, the fair will focus on the international markets of the Mediterranean arc, with Morocco as the guest country. An official trade mission from the neighboring country, made up of seven companies, six sector federations and colleges of architects and associations of builders and developers, is expected to attend the show. It is also worth highlighting the presence of 50 exhibiting companies from 18 countries, such as Germany, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Italy and Poland.

Construmat will also count on the support of 40 business organisations, such as Anerr, Apce Spain, Asefave, Cateb, Ccoc, Cepco, CNC, Coam, Coddim, Cgate, Cscae, Federation of Construction Guilds, Construction Labor Foundation or Gremi de Builders of Works.

This year the contest will revolve around sustainability and innovation, presenting the latest developments in energy efficiency or home rehabilitation. Construction is one of the largest emitters of CO2 and makes intensive use of natural resources and raw materials.

These problems will be addressed by the more than 120 speakers who are scheduled for the Sustainable Building Congress, which will host 50 conferences and 15 round tables. Topics such as decarbonization and circular economy, digital solutions and technologies or new construction systems will be discussed. An example is that of the team responsible for the Mercedes eco-district, in Barcelona, which will show the initiatives developed to minimize its environmental impact.

Construmat will also host start-ups in the PropCon Hub, a space where visibility will be given to 20 emerging technology companies for construction (contech) and real estate management (proptech).
