Five days into the race Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge, the Danish team ‘The Wolfpack Gym powered by the Garmin’ regained first place in their class, among other things thanks to a little help from the forces of nature.
– the Wind and the waves have been somewhat stronger than we have experienced in the past. We have fortunately had in the back, so it has given us higher tempo and made it easier to move forward, says Lasse Wullf Hansen, who together with Mads Vangsø represents the competition’s Danish touch, to Ekstra Bladet.

– The first days were the toughest. We are bothered by seasickness. Therefore, we have not had the desire to eat something and not gotten drunk enough, says Lasse Wullf Hansen, who also has seen the back of the boat increased speed.

– There is speed on the boat, so it is not super good, when you sleep, says Lasse Wullf Hansen, who is here to take a nap on the boat deck.
-You will be thrown a little forward and back and is not super great. Simultaneously, you are very aware of the other, the rudder. Is he good against? or if you hear something unexpected. So there are many things, which makes you not sleep tremendously much and not a deep and recovering sleep, as you know derhjemmefra.

the Danes occupy as mentioned, a first place finish after a week of sailing, and it may be that they have grabbed the wind and waves a little in a different way than the competitors, assess the Lasse.
– We can only speculate about it. We are the council that when the water really pushes on, so follow with. We have the possibility that, if the weather becomes too hard, so we can throw out a sea anchor. It is like a parachute, which slows down the speed and get the boat to be more stable,
– If the boat is moving a lot, and it’s a time in between feels as if it needs to capsize, so I think that any bull to throw drivankeret – it lowers speed tremendously.
If you are to believe Lasse Wullf Hansen, the Danish team, however, not to throw drivankeret because of the little high seas.
– You get a little butterflies in the stomach once in a while, when it just turns a big wave over the boat and you will be well wet by it, but none of us are uncomfortable with it, sounds it.
