Sweden would be able to build up a well-thought-out, functioning of community service. We would probably be able to raise the standard of the whole society dramatically. The first country to succeed in implementing such a system will be a model for others. It is feasible, profitable and ingenious.
It would make it easier for society if all citizens would be available any week of the year for miscellaneous tasks. It worked, and the general military service, so why wouldn’t it work with public service to the community?
it pops up an envelope in the mailbox once a year. Where it can, for example, stand to my compulsory week of community service consists of to be with and keep clean and tidy in Humlegårdsparken in Stockholm.
If the group then consisting of maybe 15 pieces of randomly selected people, it is likely that there will be a number of totally different backgrounds and conditions which shall carry out the work together. Then there is the chance to discover how easy it is to judge people in advance.
Under such circumstances, there is the chance to gain self-esteem and respect for their fellow human beings. Themselves the task, in this case to keep it clean in the park, create a sense of community and pride at having contributed to the city’s well-being.
it would be very good for the social climate that people from different areas and classes beblandas in common tasks.
care for the Elderly, is a good example of a samhällsområde that is in great need of more resources. My partners parents are both over 90 years old and needs help with virtually everything in everyday life. They are presently living in a serviced residence, but it would require at least ten times as much staff for all the accommodations would have adequate care.
in Addition to the permanent employees and trained staff is needed, the people who can help with the little things in everyday life, to lead a synsvag down to the dining room, prepare food, help with phone calls, shopping, reading magazines, tidying up or just being in the vicinity. As it is now four employees at a nursing home be able to accommodate 50-60 people.
both feasible and ingenious. The biggest challenge is to seriously immerse themselves in the idea, not to think that it is a ridiculous contrivance, but a natural solution.
the Difficulties of building a functioning community sits more in the idea than the practical implementation. And whatever it costs to implement, it should pay off in the long run.
My suggestions on the rules for a mandatory community service in Sweden:
• All citizens shall be available for community service a week per year.
• It will not go to buy themselves free from service to the community, the starting point is that everyone can contribute something and everyone to be with.
• the Community should be a rewarding, without salary. Food, travel expenses and accommodation will be covered by the society/state.
• Any other issues and difficulties may be resolved after the hand.
a comprehensible and feasible projects, all of the proceeds of. It would help to make Sweden into the world’s cleanest, most friendly and harmonious country.
A country with a functioning community where everyone feels needed and involved. Under such circumstances, citizens can put up with quite a large samhällsklyftor without surna together.
in Summary, can mandatory community service work as a bridge between the echelons of society.
