Erling Kølner Jensen, who was known as the guitarist of the band Cartoons, is dead. He was 50 years old.

It confirms his bandkollega Martin Østengaard to Ekstra Bladet.

He want of respect for the family not to disclose what Jensen failed, but tells that he had been sick for a long time.

– It is horrible! And it is on top of the purchase number two from the orchestra, so it is both inconceivable and unreal and immensely sad, he says.

Martin Østengaard has played together with Erling Kølner Jensen, who in the Cartoons went under the name ‘Shooter’, for 30 years.

– How will you remember him?

– As a great live man – very much alive and with appetite on life. And as a really talented musician, he strikes fast.

Kølner Jensen leaves a daughter in 20 years.

Cartoons began the colorful career back in 1999, where they quickly became known with songs like ‘Witch Doctor’, and ‘DooDah’.

They have sold over two million records, making them one of the best-selling Danish bands.

The popular band was resurrected for We love the 90’s last summer, where they gave the concerts over the country.

– this is The whole band very happy that we did and got the last walk in the managen. It was erling’s swan song, if you have to be a little cheesy, for that we knew where the bar sometime. That it succeeded and with the success we had, I am personally very grateful that we got the trip together, explains Østengaard.

We love the 90’s, the band performed without their former band member Karina Jensen, who lost the fight to cancer in 2016.

Karina Jensen, who had the name ‘Boop’ in the band, had struggled with the disease since 2012.
