Rubite found his seed against depopulation in several German couples, and a great television series. Five couples are competing to build a business in this small town at 789m above sea level. It has more curves than its neighboring towns. The people will elect the winners on July 18 by popular vote. However, Rubite will win the victory. Five tourist projects have been launched by the couple, which have turned a town that was once a perfect example of depopulation upside down.

Arsenio Valezquez, the mayor, presented today, along with the Association of Municipalities his program against population reduction to a group of businessmen. They expressed interest in investing in the town as well as holding events such a biker rally to attract tourists. The five projects include the management of the municipal court, which is currently the only one in town, by one of two couples; the opening of La casa del cua, a restaurant in the former priest’s home; the creation of works by a prominent German painter in town; and the establishment of a company offering tourist bikes through Rubite. A couple of paramedics will also be available to help in the town. They have been involved in two incidents and they organize activities and yoga classes.

“These new neighbors bring a lot more activity and public investments to the town. Vazquez says, “We trust the project, and we know it will bring more wealth to the neighborhood, visitors, and neighbors, and some have a lot influence through social media, and the broadcast will be a great success.” A reality show with Dutch contestants was also produced in Polopos before this one was recorded. It attracted hundreds upon hundreds of tourists. Ivo de Jongh is a Dutch producer who created Polopos’s “ethical” reality show. He also launched it on Rubite. Ivo, a five-year resident of the coast, fell in love with Alpujarra, Contraviesa, and Costa in Granada. He wanted to make them “like a portal” to the rest of the world. The German chain has invested more than 1.5 million euros in the coast, and has activated associations and companies such as BIN International and Castell de Ferro merchants association.
