According to a survey, Federal Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) is clearly losing public support in the middle of the energy crisis. Almost half of those surveyed (49 percent) believe that Habeck is currently doing a bad job – only 26 percent found this in the same survey at the beginning of June.
In a survey conducted by the opinion research institute Insa on behalf of “Bild am Sonntag”, 34 percent (June: 51 percent) currently attest that he is doing a good job.
Habeck is also no longer popular as a possible chancellor: According to the survey, the climate protection minister would currently receive 19 percent approval if the chancellor were elected directly. He is behind CDU leader Friedrich Merz (23 percent) and incumbent Olaf Scholz (SPD, 24 percent). In mid-August, 25 percent said they wanted to elect Habeck chancellor – putting him ahead of Merz (19 percent) and Scholz (18 percent).
The Union is losing approval slightly, but is still clearly the strongest force in the voters’ favour. In the Sunday trend, which the opinion research institute Insa collects for the “Bild am Sonntag”, the CDU and CSU come to 27 percent this week, which is one percentage point less than in the previous week.
The traffic light parties SPD (19 percent), Greens (20 percent) and FDP (8 percent) can maintain their values from the previous week. The AfD remains unchanged at 13 percent, the left unchanged at five percent. The other parties would get eight percent (plus one percentage point) of the votes.
According to the latest survey results by the research group elections for the ZDF Politbarometer (published on September 9), the Union came to 28 percent (plus two points). The SPD reached 19 percent unchanged, the Greens lost three points to 23 percent, the FDP one point to six percent. Left and AfD each gained one point, to five and 13 percent respectively. The other parties would remain unchanged at six percent.
Insa surveyed 1000 people on September 9th. Questions: Which of the following cabinet members do you think are currently doing a good or bad job? (All cabinet members were surveyed.) If you could choose the German chancellor directly and you had the choice between Olaf Scholz, Friedrich Merz and Robert Habeck, who would you rather choose?
