the Danish superliga club Brøndby get a German captain in the spring.

Defender Benedikt Röcker takes over anførerbindet of unique in scandinavia because the number three, which by autumn’s end said goodbye to former captain Johan Larsson.

– It is a good feeling, and of course I am proud. I appreciate the confidence from the rest of the team, says the 29-year-old defender.

Benedikt Röcker came to Brøndby in the summer of 2016 shortly after Alexander Zornigers accession as head coach.

In his first two seasons in Brøndby was Röcker real man partnered at the back. He accounted among other things for a goal in the pokalfinalen last year, when he equalised to 1-1 in Brøndbys 3-1 win over Silkeborg.

In the current season had a period where he was out of the starting line-up as a result of the aftermath of a concussion.

Brøndbys new captain has his contract this summer.
