What do you do when you have rounded the 30, is unemployed, single, tired of the Peaks and get the easy panic of seeing his friends move in together, have children and a home? To make a series about it. It made Julie Rudbæk and Jesper Zuschlag, and 29 was the best Danish dramakomedieserie for years.
Webserien is fiction, but Julie and Jesper himself plays the lead roles as Julie and Jesper. And it can feel in every scene – when Julie vain popping out in order to avoid the ex’s and his new baby in the mall, or when Jesper strolling around with a latte in hand and airs his insecurities to Julie – that the series is based on a real friendship and real 30-årskvaler.
