Hungary faced criticized the new courts

Hungary has adopted a law to create courts that is directly under the minister of justice. The administrative courts shall take over the cases relating to the government business as to tax matters and elections, which are currently handled within the ordinary judiciary.

the Government says that the courts will be managed by independent judges, who will be able to deal with cases more effectively. But the minister of justice will have a huge influence over which judges are appointed and courts budgets, and critics see it as that prime minister Viktor Orbán takes another step towards authoritarian rule.

The new courts, among them a new, separate supreme court, will begin its work in 2020.
