Las Marinas, a rock-and-roll community, is currently preparing for celebrations in honor of its patron saint, the Virgen del Mar. The festivities will take place from Wednesday to Sunday with a diverse programme.

The traditional announcement chupinazo will begin at nine o’clock on Wednesday morning. This will launch a wide range of activities, including the veterans’ football match, midday fair, and the presentation of the festivities with Maria Carricondo reading the proclamation.

The coronation of queens, gentlemen, princes, and princesses will be celebrated on the first day of festivities. There will also be a tribute to an emblematic neighbour and a musical evening.

Along with the traditional pasodobles competition or Benjamin football game, activities aimed at children like workshops, climbing walls, and inflatable balloon mats will be held every day. On Saturday, July 9, there will also be a flower offering to the patron saint, and a parade of floats.

The activities will continue on July 10, with firefighters present at the foam festival, solemn Mass in honor of the Virgen del Mar at 8 p.m., and then the procession through the streets of Las Marinas. These religious acts will conclude the festivities.

These festivities have always been part of the celebrations in the municipality and attract many tourists from nearby tourist areas due to the dates. Gabriel Amat, the mayor of the municipality, said that visitors, neighbors, and tourists should enjoy these days where they can enjoy moments of leisure and coexistence and all the activities organized by the Department of Sports and Time Libre with the Fiestas Commission>>.
