Zelzate The traditional lunch break at the municipality of Zelzate is today replaced by a round sjakossen shed. The officials are preparing for the ‘Zelzaats world Championship Sjakossen Throw’ that on whit Monday in the Market of their municipality is organized.

Zelzate get on whit Monday a world championship ‘sjakossen shed’. A tribute to Zelzates most famous son: Eddy Wally. The event is an initiative of the anonymous protest group ‘Zelzate great’. That group wants the church back on the map as a bustling stopping point on the canal Ghent-Terneuzen and so jump the officials at the cart. “We want to be good on whit Monday,” says the librarian is Steven Tanghe. And so was the garden of the library this afternoon for a while, the perfect arena for a round of ‘sjakossen shed’. “We will have the whole practical leeggekocht. There is in Zelzate any old handbag to find more”, winks Tanghe.
