Results of the European election in Germany: Green winners

The Greens are the big winners of the European election in Germany. They displace the SPD of the place, the crashing literally. Also, the Union loses a lot, but remains the strongest force. Clearly, the small parties can gain.

Severe setback for the parties of the Grand coalition: the CDU and the SPD fared in the European elections in Germany was historically bad. Nevertheless, the CDU and CSU remain together the strongest force. The Union according to the preliminary result of 28.9 percent – 6.5 points less than in the European election five years ago (35.4 percent), and also scores significantly worse than in the case of the election to the Bundestag 2017 (32.9 percent). The CDU contributed 22.6 percent to the result of the Union parties, the CSU 6.3%
