Steffen Rosenstock, specialeansvarlig senior physician in the gastrointestinal unit, writes in the connection to the Extra Blade.
– The do me of course, sorry to hear that Ruth Jessen is now dead, and I will once again regret that she fell out of bed here in the hospital.
– I was, unfortunately, right, says her granddaughter, Jean Skarby, with reference to the fact that she the other day said to Ekstra Bladet, she feared that her grandmother would not live to christmas due to the many injuries.
Hvidovre Hospital believe that they had beaten sengehesten up, but recognizing that they had forgotten of the run the bed down in the normal sovehøjde, which is 60 centimeters. So when the old lady fell out of bed in the middle of the night, hit she the floor from about a meter height.
It resulted in a fractured skull, a broken cheekbone, a broken wrist, and the shoulder went of the led, and turned a corner of her hip.
– I know that she was old, but I am sure that it is fallen, who is to blame, that she is now dead. It does fucking hurt, ” says Jean Skarby, who already before the death had filed a complaint against the hospital.
And the case I come to run all the way. I want her to be opened, so as to determine the cause of death.
Steffen Rosenstock writes on to Ekstra Bladet:
– Ruth Jessen was 90 years old and weighed 35-40 kg., when she was admitted. We know that elderly, debilitated persons are at high risk of dying after a fall, whether it happens in the hospital, at home or on the street. I can therefore not exclude the possibility that the decline has a correlation with death.
– I also can not say with certainty whether an autopsy will be able to determine what she died of.
At admission we believed that Ruth Jessen was easier demented, because she was confused about time and place and own data, but it was not our view, she was difficult demented.
Because Ruth Jessen seemed to be able to take care of themselves, there was no night shift next to her bed, which was run up in a high position.
I spoke on the phone with his grandson, on Thursday, where I apologized for her grandmother’s accident. I have also offered her a follow-up conversation here in the hospital, where we can better explain what has happened and where she can ask questions, says the chief physician.
– How will you remember your grandmother?

– She was a positive and happy person. I have never seen her angry. She loved to be surrounded by his family and was happy for the walks that we took together, says Jean Skarby with tears in his voice.
– Last year we found out that she had never seen the great belt Bridge, so we took a trip to Odense Zoo. I am glad that we reached.
Jean Skarby don’t blame the staff at Hvidovre Hospital, which she personally has seen knokle around under his grandmother-visit. But she follows that it is important that the case come forward in the light, as she feels that Ruth Jessens accident and subsequent processing is the expression of a pressured health care system.
