Jose Diaz, Tabernas’ mayor, has praised Pedro Almodovar as a director from La Mancha who once again places the “media focal” on the Spanish Southeast. He chose the arid landscapes and mythical decorations of Tabernas to film ‘Extrana forma vida’.
Europa Press was informed by the mayor that Almodovar, a director as award-winning as well as renowned, resorts to Tabernas to promote the desert. This is something he appreciates.
He also spoke out about the importance of international actors like Ethan Hawke who will be starring in the film. The effect was already evident last year when Viggo Mortesen, a Hollywood actor, went to Tabernas in October 2021 for filming of “Eureka”.
There have been no formal contacts with the Consistory to request permits. However, evidence suggests that the director and his crew were in Tabernas last month to film at selected locations.
According to El Deseo, the two protagonists will be played in the role of Ethan Hawke, Pedro Pascal and the “young promise” Jason Fernandez and Jose Condessa.
