Trump will use nødretstilstanden to build a wall against Mexico and stop the influx of migrants on the way.
Trumps the republicans have the majority in the Senate. But a number of republican senators chose to go along with the democrats to repeal the nødretstilstanden.
Recently announced the former republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and today the senator Thursday that he would go against the president.
Trump had previously announced he would veto it if the Senate went against him.
It is his first veto as president.
Trump declared nødretstilstand the 15. February after months of budget negotiations in Congress.
Here one could not be agreed to find funding of the wall to Mexico, as the president had required to stop the influx of migrants from central America.

With nødretstilstanden would Trump bypassing Congress and print resources from other places in the regeringsapparatet to have built a wall against Mexico. He would find one of billions in the defence budget to build the wall.
According to the u.s. constitution, only Congress can allocate money to national projects. Only a nødretstilstand declared by the president can change that.
