Tienen On march 28, 2018 stopped the world spinning for Mark Moorhem. That morning, he found his daughter of just five years, Liselotte, lifeless in her bed. Cause of her death: CO-poisoning. Just a year later would Mark the vzw Liselotte to set up. “I want to warn people of the dangers of CO poisoning and encourage them to smoke.”

In the living room is the main body of Liselotte with kleurboekjes and all kinds of K3-items, there is still exactly the same since march 28, 2018. “I do however already off the dust, but the discard, I can’t”, says Mark. The death of his beloved daughter is clearly not yet processed. “I keep going back to that day. I Had this done, or I wish I had done…I know that I myself can’t blame, but I can, her death still does not grasp.”

Clogged chimney

Liselotte died as a result of CO poisoning due to a clogged chimney. However, it was Mark who are still in January last year to clean when he got a new burner put. Mark crawled after the death of Liselotte in his pen and sent to the cabinets of ministers of Health, Jo Vandeurzen (CD&V) and Maggie De Block (Open Vld) an open letter. Therein he asked for additional awareness raising, in order to highlight the dangers of CO poisoning, and to the population to encourage smoke alarms to install and open fireplaces to a close. And also the schools in the Tiense were contacted by Mark, in order to avoid something tragic would happen. “It was very nice to see that this, at one school, all the letter have circulated. ”
