It happened to Andre De Rycke (90), Coralie Impens (80), and their maltese Snoopy Thursday night. Barely two days later the happy family and healthy home. “Happiness? We have more than luck”.
A horrorcrash, and one that not many people would be able to tell the tale: it was a Thursday night, on the E34 in Assenede. Andre and Coralie were together with Snoopy on the way home, when she was in collision were with another car.

I was lying on the dashboard, all the way pinched.” The emergency services were flocking to the spot, the fire department would have the car open, and the couple free. In the hospital in Eeklo proved how lucky the duo had: Andre had some bleeding, and a nasty gash on the head, but the duo came actually with a scratch on it. “We wanted Thursday all to go home,” says Andre. “But that could not of the doctor. On Friday, we wanted to really go back, because we had agreed to eat something with the children. Otherwise we see them so little.”
Smelly, but at home

Sleeping and eating is not normal. That creature must be so frightened.”
The couple and their dog pose for a picture. Barely 36 hours after the horrorcrash, they are safe and together at home in Assenede. “Happiness? We have more than luck,” says Andre. “I think we are each fifty engelbewaarders,” adds Coralie and her husband. “How often it happens that people are alive and as well off as an accident? And then Snoopy, who is safe at home. We would like to thank everyone who has helped us. The fire brigade, the people of the hospital, everyone that Snoopy was looking for: thank you for that.”
