Zottegem a big fire in an apartment block in the Godveerdegemstraat in Zottegem are tonight, three residents overcome by the smoke. A passer-by for help, rushed was transferred to the hospital with rookintoxicatie. Fourteen other residents are cared for in a hotel in the Kloosterstraat in Erwetegem.
The fire was about 19 hours in the kitchen of an apartment on the third floor. “Suddenly there was on the door gebonkt. Someone yelled that a fire had broken out. We are immediately our apartment leaked, and in passing also the other residents informed,” testified Marleen. The woman lives together with her husband and son on the second floor. “Panic was not really there. The evacuation is best, however, went smoothly.
