Song contest A historic performance! Duncan Laurence has for the Netherlands for the first time in 44 years the Eurovision song Contest and won. With Arcade, he won by a large victory by the voting public of Sweden and Italy. Laurence is the successor of Teach-in, which in 1975 won with Ding-a-Dong.
It was the most exciting Eurovision final in many years. But the outcome was that where the Netherlands after 44 years to yearned: Duncan Laurence is the winner of the song Contest. Almost half a century after the victory of the Teach-in comes the festival again next year to the Netherlands.

It was the outcome of a hotly contested vote in which Laurence, the absolute number one favourite of the bookmakers, with the jury somewhat disappointing finished third with 231 points. Sweden won the jury’s for the surprising North-Macedonia.
