SVT sent a few years ago, the Al, the Pitcher solo performance ”Oh shit!” and I sat at home alone and laughed out loud to myself – finer compliment I think I can not share with you because right get the comedian managed it.
Born in Huddersfield, England and grew up in New Zealand will be his wrestling and struggling with the strange English language and it is not so rare right to the complexity and the complexity of the Swedish society is often very fun.
When you don’t understand what the environment says in a completely foreign language, we have all, of course, easy to regress and suddenly both feel, and be, very small. When the seemingly big strong cocky men (Al Pitcher) suddenly can’t find the words and comment, and have to start the point and raise and lower your voice to make yourself understood the very least – yes, then it occurs where the comic clash the Pitcher, so cleverly used.
why Al Pitcher new miniseries on SVT Play, ”Al Pitcher at the break”, everything else than funny (I’ve seen the first two episodes – he should get the chance all the way into the tile).
Al Pitcher is on six months paternity leave and the opportunity to from park benches and playgrounds and cafés to observe and consider us swedes, the Swedish society and a good many of our human failings. He peeks both our and their own prejudices.
Småputtrigt – but almost nothing works! Despite the quite decent, fun material, he has evidently had to cope completely without direction. No one hears when the rub, no one to see when the timing crashing to the forest, and no one has noticed that his sidekicks simply is too bad.
gigantic waste of a comic genius.
I early, before it began airing, and although I did not directly took the word turkey in my mouth so I know that I in all cases think of the worst kind of Donald Chanterelle-theater – in buskisformat. Not really SVT-class, well…?
then, When Marie Agerhäll, the show’s creator (along with Jesper, these two) appeared in the morgonsofforna and was hailed as a Swedish Pamela Adlon (whose ”Better things” is the funniest thing I’ve seen on tv in 30 years – at least), I began of course to think about whether I really seen the same series, as they sat and talked about.
Yes, I had it.
I was rebuffed and homework, and looked again.
still did not Understand what they were talking about.
Marie Agerhäll is admittedly the only one in the series that has a reasonably balanced överspel – the rest is pajigast possible. The political satire is uddlös, the operation with the diplomatic service and parts from the upper class silly klyschig – good work by Marie Agerhäll to both write the script, direct, star and produce, but it will be at least two chairs for a lot, just like with the Pitcher, she is to hand over to a director with a good ear and a mischievous producer with a sharp red pencil.
on in Swedish it was called the ”Hopeless types”, was a great fun british 90-talsserie with, among other things, the favorite Martin Clunes in one of the main characters (also known from ”Doc Martin”). Now we can see him on tv in the uk krimserien ”Manhunt” (minserie in three sections). He makes a really dry, dull and colorless DCI from the beginning, have doubts about whether he really is the right man for a very complicated seriemördarjakt.
Martin Clunes is brilliant in the role – just hope he shows up again.
