The gastro group of Fredy Wiesner specializes in ethnic food. If Asian specialities, such as in the Negishi – and Nooch-chain or Australian dishes such as the Outback Lodge – the companies have done it to far-away countries. With the Papa Ceviche, which was closed in Zurich until further notice, belonged to a Peruvian Restaurant for the Portfolio.

The Korean Trend is coming to Zurich

Now, Korea is to conquer the city. With the Miss Miu the group has not only opened one of the first modern East Asian Restaurants in the city, but also one of the largest. At 430 square metres, with Burlesque pictures decorated rich, the fill with House music covers. That comes out to: 160 seats are occupied practically every night.

The restaurant also features a Cocktail Bar and a Take-away area, where you can pre-order on screens for the food. A room comes with table-top grill for Korean Barbecue and in the basement of a Boudoir, in which you can dress up with feather Boas and photograph – totally instagrammable. About 30 Korean dishes – like Sushi-like rolls of Gimbap (from 9.50 Fr./4 PCs.), Fried Chicken (26 Fr.) or noodle soups (from 22.50 Fr.). Many of the dishes of the puzzles have names, such as “Ding Dong Ditch” or “Hyunday ok”, seems to be the concept. As well as the fact that in the Miss Miu is a right freely interpreted Version of Korean cuisine.

traditions are broken

Many of the specialities, which are traditionally made of beef, one with chicken; here and there we find also Japanese, such as Tonkatsu cutlet. The generous use of garlic and chili paste that the Korean cuisine is based, is missing almost entirely – in the same way as the acidity of the homemade Kimchi made from fermented cabbage.

Well, the Bibimbap (32.50 Fr taste.), one of the most popular dishes of the Korean cuisine. It is a hot bowl of earthenware, which is filled with all that we would like to have: crusty fried rice, beef, mushrooms, Egg and vegetables. The Marinade of the meat is excellent; habituation needy, is that the dish is seasoned with lime. In the best case, the Thai is.

The gochujang sauce from fermented seasoning paste that would be served, we see nowhere. The Bulgogi (“Fire Meat”, 28.50 Fr.), which is traditionally prepared with beef tenderloin, we order the chicken Version. Served with rice and a force-free soy-Marinade without the otherwise obligatory bulbs comes. Finally, we eat Coupes with Patbingsu (from 12.50 Fr.), in Korea, popular milk sorbet made of scraped ice. Tiny Glace-pieces in the “Sulbing’s Wonder”-Coupe (12.50 Fr.) cool and tickling the tongue. Finally, another Dessert!

The Miss Miu is a concept restaurant with nice staff, quick, freshly prepared food and ideal to use in the Korean kitchen to enter. A housewife from Seoul, but who cooks like most of the Koreans according to family recipes and a clear idea of how something is prepared, it would be probably not happy.
