a year Has passed since the plane crash that killed our President, Paul Ten, a colleague, a friend. A special person, and we feel very the lack. We have surprised this year, countless initiatives and spontaneous times to make the memory of the person of Paul, his ideas and the values that he professed. Recently, the Italian Cooperation has dedicated to his memory, in the Sudan, the girls ‘ school of Al Yarmouk in Mayo, one of the poorest neighborhoods of Khartoum.

A school dedicated to him in Ethiopia. Even the CISP wanted to, in various ways, to give substance to the desire to remember. In the first place in Ethiopia, the country that he loved. At Chiro, Western Hararghe, a school has been built with the library dedicated to him. Built with private funds coming from fundraising La7 from family and friends. This is the public school Chercher Preparatory School School, where there was not a place that can offer to girls and boys with limited means, study materials and examination. Thanks to the fund established it is also possible to provide scholarships for girls in trouble.

And two scholarships in his name. In the second place, in collaboration with the Fondazione Roma Sapienza have been established two scholarships named after dr. Paul Ten, aimed at graduates in Sciences of Development and International Cooperation studies at Sapienza University of Rome. The terms of the contest will expire on next march 22. “The training of the young was very important to him. In the courses of the Master where he taught, says Maura Viezzoli, President of CISP – he was so dedicated to pass on to the boys, the values that he lived: to cure the ills of the world with professionalism and ethics.”

The straight bar along the course plotted by Paul. today the website of the CISP inaugurates a new section dedicated to Paul. “Among the initiatives that are aimed at promoting the thought of Paul and of his remembrance – says Sandro de Luca, manager of the CISP – there is an archive of his writings which will continue to ask questions and to inspire us in our work”. As promised in the aftermath of the tragedy, the CISP holds the straight bar, and continues his work with the same commitment and determination, despite being aware of the increasing difficulties of the political context and the health and social care. The CISP will continue to work, as Paul affirmed, in the perspective of the people and of the communities and their specific needs.
