Earlier this week came the news that the organizers behind one of the year’s most important award ceremonies for the film industry, Academy awards, will cut more categories from the live show on TV.

Together with the union the American Society of Cinematographers, went stars like George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, Sandra Bullock and Emma Stone out against the decision in a letter to the Oscar-organizer.

the Categories “Best cinematographer”, “Best clips”, “Best live-action short film” and “Best make – up and hÃ¥rstyling” is among the prices that should no longer be shared out in the actual TV broadcast. The verdict? An insult!

“By doing this move, will get these important resources to a lower status in this Academy awards, and it is nothing less than an insult for all of us who have dedicated our life to this profession,” states the letter, quoted by the news agency AP.
