it is Obvious that the host, Raffaele Sutter a professional. Trained as a decoration designer of the former Café Weggen, with few but precise interventions in a French Bistro in the Art Deco style.

A large part of the ancient furniture such as the marble tables or a mirrored Bar – was allowed; the benches are now Teal colors instead of dark green. With his brother-in-law Marc-Antoine Kaeppel, an economist from Geneva, makes Sutter a dream team with a penchant for French Flair: Since 2014, the two also run the popular Café French on the Limmatquai.

The Montmartre is similar to charming, but thanks to its hidden location in the tiny weggen alley more intimate than the French. As we have found the alley, before it comes to us, as we are in a secret place. Especially since we have no phone connection. And the podium, the front of the Café up to the Church of St. Peter, remembering, in fact, a little to the Montmartre district. With the difference that the staff cares for the Parisian arrogance, but very friendly.

The Local is, as with Bistros, as usual, a daily open all-day operation with many French guests. During the week there is Breakfast until 11.30 am, on weekends up to 14 hours; and what you get in France: extra-buttery Croissants (2.50 Fr.), various Sets with baguettes, jams and cheeses (from 10.50 Fr.) as well as scrambled eggs. The latter seems to us, though served with bacon, 13.50 Fr. too expensive. Especially since the Portion is rather small.

How the Egg is served when you visit the next day, the celery-garlic-soup in a Mason Jar. It is in the case of the hot dishes, there continuously until 22 PM, inclusive. More like cream, and celery as a to garlic flavour, the herb is not very impressed, satisfied. Perfectly, the cod fillet with steamed potatoes (29 Fr.) as well as the Tourte aux Légumes (22 Fr.).

This is a soup pot that is covered with a baked Blätterteighut and the Leeks, and carrots to hide; seasoned with plenty of thyme. Très bon, as in Provence. Auto gear sardines Apérohäppchen as Year (16 Fr.) or Tartines (from 9 Fr.) the Montmartre.

only French specialities such as a Crémant Royal with Cassis juice (11 Fr will be served.) or a Diabolo, whose Name sounds a lot more dangerous than the Soaked it is: a blööterli water and ice cubes, molded onto, house-made lavender syrup (5 Fr.).
