Gregor Böttcher, the world discovered the loved one on your own. With the trumpet, the downtrodden to him by his parents in the Hand, he did. Much more curious he was on the piano: He started to play around fingers, better quick, practiced consistently. “I wanted to be Wartke such as Bodo, the all-singing, piano cabaret,” says Gregor Böttcher. Also when he decided 18 years ago to become a conductor of classical music, he chose the auto-didactic way, founded a orchestra, grabbed a baton and started using it.
“sound of noise”, he called the Formation, in Potsdam, where the native of Hamburg grew up and the music emphasized the Gymnasium Hermannswerder has visited, they performed, with sophisticated programs and the chutzpah of growing up. In Parallel, Gregor prepared Böttcher on the entrance exam to the Berlin Academy of the arts, with the Horn as the main instrument – which he had learned only a year before. He was adopted, now, after the third Semester, but the study again to rest. “I just simply do too much as a conductor,” says Gregory Cooper, not without Pride. The recording of one of his performances on DVD was enough to convince a professional orchestra from Kiev: they invited the young man in the Ukraine, where, in turn, a music Manager from Kazakhstan was sitting in the audience, who gave him a Chance. Also in Lithuania, he will debut soon, and the Kiev have invited him to be the same for another concert.

Gregor Böttcher is a doer. But none of that comes faster than the others, because he can extend the elbow very well, but one who is convinced of his by bright eyes. The burns from the fire bear witness, the in its Interior. And from the passion that drives him forward. In the meantime, he also takes conducting lessons.
Who is watching Gregor Böttcher at the rehearsal in the orchestra pit of the neukölln home port, the looks He makes with the left. Specifically, because he holds the baton in the other Hand as most of his colleagues. But also because he has a natural authority. Confidently, he mediates between the singers on stage and the three dozen musicians to his feet, are nice, but some kind of notes to Tempo, tonal balance, and Interaction.

Weber’s “Freischütz” is the third project of the “Ensemble ConTutti”, founded by Gregor Böttcher in his first Semester at the University of the arts together with a friend. In addition to the orchestra, a choir, according to the “Nelson mass” by Haydn, and Fauré’s Requiem, the “ConTuttis have made” the most German of all operas. 80 young people, in the orchestra, many aspiring music educators to sit. The stage and the costume designer come from the school of art Weißensee, most of the soloists from the Eisler-University of music, as well as the film’s Director Tilman from the Siepen. He is, like Gregor Böttcher, 20 years young, and I know from common primary school.
“For three quarters of a year, the preparations, all the with make free of charge in their spare time, as a ten-member organisation team, we were able to attract some of the University funding – but the project remains a financial risk,” says Gregor Böttcher. Budding artists of his ilk scares the little. Don’t hesitate, just do, is the motto. In it, he is the young Simon Rattle similar to drumming as an 18-Year-old in London, also his fellow students and a private Symphony orchestra on the legs, because he dreamed of Gustav Mahler’s monumental second Symphony to perform. At least in rattle’s case, the Transition to the professional career, has worked pretty well.
