I love the old clothes, it has done it since I was just a little thumb and it became very hot with the 50 style.

All who were there know, it was, I would not say easily, but no major challenge to lay your hands on a genuine femtiotalsblåsa in almost perfect condition. In any case, not for us, who knew where to look.

how nice and durable it is with the reuse of clothing. There are vintagemässor and the tv-show has its own vintageexpert. Wonderful, I think.

But. One day when I was free in the middle of the week, I checked into the ever-ending supply of really old clothes in the vintagebutikerna in town. In the store on Drottninggatan shopping street has a special room filled with dresses. It is certainly not cheap and klänningarnas condition is very diverse but oh so lovely it is sometimes when you find the right.

I examine the different positions and examine the garments carefully when suddenly I get the company of two girls of secondary school age. They move directly towards the position which I have not had time to check yet.

are they on the lookout for something suitable to have on studentbalen. I cuddle and think that ”kids today, they know things that we knew”. Content look I sometimes over my shoulder to see if the girls will find something delicious. But suddenly freezes my soul to the ice, when I hear one of the girls carelessly pulls a crazy beautiful dress from the late 40, early 50’s-speech and exclaimed: ”this is perfect if you cut it off down there”.

Furthermore, I hear how the child describes how she’s going to go berserk on this rarity and short both here and there, and cut away a very beautiful cloth flower, which, admittedly, is a bit scruffy but ORIGINAL.

oh my God, I can’t let this happen. I follow silently after them to provrummen and picks at random with me a couple of too-large 80’s Levis that I pretend that I’m going to try.

and I hear how they resonate back and forth across the 40-speaker’s future. My temple throbs.

in the end, they concluded that the color was not good or the like, and hanging from it. I breathe out.

You can mend broken seams, sew where the buttons, replace zippers and sew it into dresses a little but the robbing is not a vintage dress to its full length. It is 70 years old, have a little respect.

Alexandra Carlsson Tenitskaja is livereporter on DN and definitely think it was better in the old days. She is, however, eternally grateful for the 50’s The New Look, finer silhouette is not.
