I was a ass man before. I had a long period in my life where I was high on myself. People followed me in social media, and I lost myself in the middle of it here. I was a bad version of myself. I’ve flirted with girls that have been my girlfriend. I have been very direct with these girls. And it’s not good, ” said Ørjan Burøe.
It was in the podcast “H.r. and make it dance”, “a podcast that kicks 100% up”, he finally spoke out and apologized. The charges of sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct has pursued Burøe a good while. Among other things, has Sigrid Farmer Tusvik accused him of inappropriate behaviour at a christmas party in their own podcast. Although, he has been silent. Until now. For him was the podcast apparently a safe space, an opportunity to stand out as a repentant sinner – without the critical questions that necessarily follow with an interview in the media .
Burøe was open:
I stood on the edge of the cliff and looked down at myself with shame. I had destroyed everything for them that meant the most to me. I had been an idiot, and that I had to be accountable for, said Burøe.
Opening up about Metoo-the charges: – Was an ass man
All own their own history, we tend in the press to say. Now that god, hvermann and fandens great-grandmother has a blog, instagram, Facebook, and podcast, is this even clearer than before. Let’s say that something goes skeis for a politician, business leader, or, god forbid, Norwegian celebrity. Then it is a potential pr rådgivers first bid to gain control over the story as told. And it is blog, instagram, Facebook, and podcast that begins to sail up the as as preferred platforms to speak out on. Where is it apparently easier to gain control, there is basically no critical questions.
If you don’t think about the comments, of course.
Previously mentioned Sigrid Farmer Tusvik and Lisa Barrel has for example only black on the Erle Marie Sørheims “verbal gauntlet”-criticism in the private podcast.
When people was in the hard been in the old days, they were asking up on the “skavlan talkshow”. Now trying to fix the problem with to write a Facebook-mail. Kristian Tonning Riise retired as the leader of the Young Right through a now deleted Facebook-post, where among other things, he claimed that there was no alerts against him.
It turned out to be not quite correct.
When Sylvi Listhaug, on their side, ended up in trouble just because of a Facebook-post, she attempted to remedy it with even more Facebook-posts, but ended with to withdraw, via a Facebook-mail.
even though all owns its own history, does not mean that all others do not do the same. Or that they can’t have objections against the way the story is told on. Or feel that there are key elements in the story that is omitted, as in the case of Kristian Tonning Riise.
Is there anything you can learn from the story of Ørjan Burøe, except that it is important to behave properly in the face of women, of course, it is precisely the fact that a podcast is in no way a safe space.
it wasn’t long before krikken came, no hail, over Burøe.
Sigrid Farmer Tusvik and Lisa Barrel was quick on the ball in the podcast.
“It’s one or the other as skurrer”, said Sigrid Farmer Tusvik: “In the podcast (his) it sounds like it was my fault”.
She accused him of trying to threaten people into silence.
Something Burøe went out and dementerte in VG.
In a post in the VG criticized the comedian Sofie Frøysaa Burøe for “disclaimer” and “belittling”. She accused him of using the excuse to launch the new podcast, and to “go in offerollen”: “I do not mean that there should not be room for forgiveness, but I see no unreserved apology to the offended person. I see a speculative attempt to gather into sympatipoeng and likes via free advertising in Norway’s largest newspaper – VG set willing up.”, she wrote.
And also got the support of another comedian, who wrote the post “How can you be on man’s side in the #Metoo?”. It wasn’t long before the Newspaper gathered sakskomplekset in the case, “He Burøe put the new guy on #Metoo in the Celebrity-Norway”.
Talk about talking out.
It doesn’t help to hide anymore when you’ve done something stupid. For even though everyone owns their own story, are there maybe some others out there who are talking louder than you.
Some will say that it is problematic, but the way it’s been.
