Syria is leading the dismal five-in-top-the list of civilians killed in armed conflict. With 7.225 in 2018, Syria is harder hit than the next four countries together. Nigeria comes next, with 2.988 killed civilians, followed by Yemen (2.330 dead), and Afghanistan with 1.499 men, women and children killed.
