The U.S. house of representatives to oppose the US President, Donald Trump declared a National state of emergency on the border to Mexico. A majority in the house of representatives, currently controlled by Democrats, voted on Tuesday evening (local time) for a Resolution that would end the state of emergency. The motion was passed with 245 to 182 votes. The New York Times, according to more than a dozen Republicans voted for it.

This is only a first step. Whether the Resolution will have in the end success is unclear.

The template now goes to the second chamber of the U.S. Congress: the Senate, in which trump is the Republicans have the majority. There have already signalled several Republican senators to stand behind the Resolution of the Democrats. Even if they should be approved by both chambers, would also have to agree to even Trump himself. He has, however, already announced its Veto. And to override this Veto, would be in both chambers by a two-thirds majority is necessary. This is not likely to come to the state of things.

Trump undermines the separation of powers

Recently adopted by the Congress of a budget law, which provides 1.4 billion dollars for border barriers over a length of 88 kilometers. However, this is only a fraction of the $ 5.7 billion for more than 320 km-long barrier, which Trump has in mind.

The President had, therefore, at 15. February a National emergency declared, to the desired wall without parliamentary approval to Fund. Last week, the Democrats in the house of representatives had introduced a Resolution to end the state of emergency. They argue, Trump hebele the separation of powers. Even many Republicans reject Trumps action.

The President had justified the state of emergency on the border with an alleged Invasion by migrants, criminal gangs and drug smuggling. Against the state of emergency Declaration 16 of US filed States a class-action lawsuit.
