Science & planet, An international team of astronomers has a strange black hole discovered. V404 Cygni, in the constellation of the Swan, is badly aligned and sprayed in the wanted to go gas. The black hole is 8,000 light-years away from earth. The researchers used their findings today in the journal Nature published.
V404 Cygni was observed for the first time as a black hole in 1989. Like many black holes, this feeds is also a star in the near by gas extraction. This creates a disk of material around the hole. There are also so-called jets, beam stream of energy and matter launched from an area close to the black hole.

The researchers suspect that in this black hole, the disk and the black hole are not properly aligned. Thereby rocking the inner part of the disk as a “cheap speelgoedtol”. The result is that the jets different sides get along. “And the jets can be changed in less than a few hours of direction. Such a thing has never before”, said lead researcher James Miller-Jones.
Observation
The researchers observed the black hole for two weeks in June 2015. They used the Very Long Baseline Array of ten radio telescopes in the United States, the Virgin islands and Hawaii. Normally make that telescopes one composite image in four hours. But because the jets within a couple of hours of the direction of change, was made on the composite images, only a haze to see. Then researchers decided to 103 individual pictures with a short shutter speed in a video to convert. Therefore, they saw the black hole to wobble, and the jets all sides to shoot.
The researchers suspect that there are more wobbly black holes.
The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) made a video in which the remarkable phenomenon to see is:
