“Major security flaw in mobilsvarstjänst”
“Tele2’s voice mail system has serious deficiencies, reports the daily News.”
“Anyone can listen to the other tablet mobilsvarsmeddelanden, according to a review by the magazine done. No code should be needed to listen to the voicemail centre number, change the hälsningsmeddelanden and switch the subscriber’s own password.”
“There has been a gap that has been unknown,” says Viktor Wallström, communication manager at Tele2, told the newspaper.”
“To listen to other people’s voice mail has been possible through the use of a network service that simulates the phone number you want to call from.”
“Tele2 has 3.8 million customers in Sweden, including government agencies and companies. Probation, SEB, Nordea and the Prosecutor’s office are some of the operator’s customers, according to DN. Säkerhetsbristen is the same existing landline number.”
“There are as yet no data on whether information has been leaked through the system. National Post and telecom agency (PTS), which is the responsible supervisory authority in the field, says to DN that they may initiate an enforcement case.”
