The Leinster-Toulouse shock, played on Saturday in Dublin in the semi-final of the Champions Cup (at 4 p.m.), will be the fourteenth opposition in history between these two European giants, the most disputed poster in the competition since 1995.

The first confrontation between the two teams dates back to September 6, 1997 for a group match won by Stade Toulousain in Dublin (34-25).

Subsequently, Dubliners and Toulouse faced each other seven times in group stages (4 Toulouse victories, 3 Irish victories), then five times in the final stages with an advantage this time for Leinster (4 qualifications, 1 elimination), the last on the 14th May 2022 in the semi-finals at Aviva Stadium (40-17).

Despite this recurrence, the two most successful teams in the competition (5 titles for Toulouse, 4 for Leinster) have never been opposed in the final.

Since 1995 in the Champions Cup, follow the Leinster-Bath and Leinster-Leicester posters with 13 games played. Toulouse-Edinburgh and Ulster-Toulouse have faced each other 12 times. Finally, with 11 games played, we find the Scarlets-Leicester, Ospreys-Leicester, Munster-Saracens, Ulster-Stade Français, Wasps-Toulouse and Leicester-Stade Français confrontations.
