All Blacks winger Will Jordan will be out for six months with a shoulder injury and will miss all of Super Rugby with the Canterbury Crusaders, the Christchurch club announced on Monday. Jordan, 25, will need surgery to treat the injury which dates back to last season, the title holders in the southern hemisphere club competition said. The Crusaders will play their first match of Super Rugby 2024 on Friday against the Waikato Chiefs, another New Zealand team, in a repeat of the 2023 final.

Jordan, who can also play fullback, is expected to return to rugby “in about six months”, meaning he is also expected to miss the All Blacks’ three test matches in July, two at home against England and one against Fiji in San Diego, and perhaps part of the Rugby Championship in August and September. The 25-year-old has scored 31 tries in as many matches for New Zealand since his debut in 2020. He was, with eight tries, the top try scorer at the last World Cup in France where the All Blacks lost in the final against South Africa.
