The U.S. house of representatives has approved a law to take action against China’s suppression of Muslim minorities. It should allow for penalties against China’s government officials made for the oppression of the Muslim people group.

The chamber of the Parliament adopted the law with only one vote against. Various Agencies of the U.S. government are obliged by law to provide Parliament with regular progress reports on the situation of Uighurs in China’s North-Western Xinjiang province.

The Republican Congressman Chris Smith called China’s action in the “modern concentration camps” in Xinjiang as a “bold reduction”, which “includes the Mass internment of millions on a scale not seen since the Holocaust. We can not remain silent. We must demand an end to this barbaric practice,” said Smith, adding that Chinese officials needed to be pulled for “crimes against humanity” to justice.

China indignant

The new act requires the closure of mass prison camps in the North-Western Region of Xinjiang, and includes, for the first time, the invitation to Trump, to impose sanctions against a member of the Chinese Politburo: The Secretary of the Communist party in Xinjiang, Chen Quanguo, for the conditions in the prison camps to be responsible, it said.

China protested sharp projects against the law. Spokeswoman Hua Chunying aussenamt said on Wednesday in Beijing of an “interference in internal Affairs”. The plans vilified China’s efforts in the fight against terrorism. In the affected Region of Xinjiang, it is not about human rights or Religion, but to the fight against terrorism and separatism.

The aussenamt spokeswoman urged the US government to let the law enter into force, and was not described in detail against the measures in the view. The plans, revealed only that the United States invest in the fight against terrorism “two Mass”. The Chinese people see this “the hypocrisy and the evil intentions” of the American side, only clearer.

China has denied any mistreatment of Uighurs always says that the stock vis-à-vis vocational training. The people’s Republic has warned of retaliatory measures if cells would be targeted.

The U.S. Senate had approved in September unanimously adopted a similar text of the law. The Senate has to deal once again with the acquisition of the house of representatives, before the law can be sent for signature to President Donald Trump. Trump could Veto the law, could be overruled by Congress with a two-thirds majority. The White house has not expressed initially as to whether Trump would use the law to sign or Veto it.

impact on trade dispute?

just last week, Trump had signed a Congress-initiated legislation to strengthen the Pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong. China reacted angrily and threatened counter-measures. Experts believe that the new tensions also complicate economies, the conclusion of a trade agreement between the two largest economies.

The US government estimates that around a Million Uyghurs are detained against their will, mostly in internment camps. Human rights activists speak of re-education camps, in which Uighurs with sometimes brutal means, on the line of the Communist party should be China’s sworn in.
