Yesterday’s session of the Granada City Council saw the approval of the first procedure for a temporary pavilion to be placed in the Humilladero. It will be used for leisure and cultural activities. The design of the pavilion will be determined by architecture students.

The municipality approved a cooperation protocol between the City Council, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, (Mitma), and the University of Granada, (UGR). This will allow for the holding of an architecture competition for young architects. Its purpose is to promote innovation and experimentation through the construction of the temporary pavilion.

Jacobo Calvo, a spokesperson for the government team, stated yesterday that the project aims to provide opportunities for young students. Calvo stated that the pavilion will be used for cultural and leisure activities throughout its lifetime. This is not the first time the Humilladero environment has hosted this type of initiative. The Plaza del Centro is a place where children’s activities can be installed at Christmas. It has been the site of many traveling exhibitions and concerts. There was also a temporary Ferris wheel that operated there from Christmas 2019-2020 to June 2020. It was removed due to restrictions caused by the pandemic.

The Granada City Council approved yesterday bill payments in the amount of 4.5 million to clean, waste collection, neighborhood equipment and garden conservation.

It also gave full access to cultural files such as the collaboration agreement with Diputacion, the AguaGranada foundation, and the International Festival of Young Filmmakers 2022. It also approved the VI editions of the International Guitar Festival.
