Lanjaron will again host the motor show. This weekend, the IX Climb To the Cerro de los Canones will take place from Friday through Sunday. C. D. Cerro de los Canones and the Lanjaron City Council have committed to maintaining the success of previous years by organizing an event with 100 participants that is expected to draw thousands of spectators throughout the weekend.

The Climb to Cerro de los Canones is a well-known regional benchmark and is now attracting attention at the national level. This test is valid for the Andalusia Mountains Climbing Championship. It’s backed by the Andalusian Automobile Feder (FAA), and it’s a unique sponsorship by Lanjatrans. The trophy will be named after this participant and will be presented at the ceremony on Sunday.

The timing of the 2022 edition will be kept in intermediate times. This modality is used in the national championship, and was also used during the 2021 edition. All timing for Motor Racing Officials and Timekeepers will be handled by the club.

Friday night will see the opening ceremony for the Climb to Cerro de Los Canones 2022. Guests and neighbors will be delighted by the first roars from the vehicles. The test will begin Saturday at 2:30 pm with two training sessions, and one race session. Sunday will feature a new training session as well as two final race sessions.

One hundred participants will be measured along the canyon asphalt. The route is marked by sharp curves and different terrains, until it reaches the Aguas Danone bottling facility in Lanjaron. This will mark the end of the race. Jose Carlos Ropero, Cristian Broberg and Manolo Maltadonado will all be there. Broberg will be looking for Lanjaron to take the crown he won last year when he signed the second place. These categories include Touring Cars and Single Seaters, Sport Regularity, Single Seaters, and CarCross.

Regularity Sport will feature the Escuderia Granada 49.9 Jose Manuel Rodriguez and Javier Roldan runners. Jose Manuel Hidalgo or Antonio de los Rios will be driving single-seaters. In Car Cross, another regular will return to the podium for the canyon event, such as Pedro Luis Fernandez from Escuderia Carthago or Santiago Carmona, or Juan Jose Moreno.

Eric Escobedo is the mayor of Lanjaron. He believes that the Climb To Cerro de los Canones is already a landmark event in Lanjaron. We invite you to enjoy the weekend of entertainment as well as our municipality. To improve the show, we have reduced registrations by 90.
