Julio Millan, the mayor of Jaen has been present at the opening of the municipally-owned premises that were made available by the City Council to the Jaen Athletic Association. This is the club’s representative, with 30 years worth of history and around 300 members, most of whom are girls and boys, as the youth academy is one pillar of this club.
It covers almost 150 square metres and is situated in Plaza Federico Garcia Lorca next to the Penamefecit market. Last week, Atletico Jaen’s head received a large representation at the City Hall. This included players and coaches from the Juvenile A teams, league champions, Juvenile C, first in the table and the Senior team which was promoted to Primera Andaluza.
The second deputy mayor, Africa Colomo was present with the mayor. Also, Carlos Alberca, Carlos Alberca, Javier Padorno (mayor of Urban Maintenance), and Eva Funes, councilor for Citizen Participation were also present.
Millan highlighted this aspect of Millan’s tireless work in favor of promotion of sport. “Thirty-years is half a lifetime dedicated to selfless work, training thousands and even thousands of boys and daughters in the practice and enjoyment of sports,” and the promotion and promotion of healthy values and respect to “form a great familial that bears Jaen wherever they go.”
This was a task before which the municipal government expressed its willingness to support the club in any actions that it can. “That’s why we decided to place a bet on the large space that was in disuse for many years.” The councilor also recalled the importance of having a prominent entity in a neighborhood such as Penamefecit.
Pedro Hernandez, the president of the club thanked the City Council. The transfer will make it possible for young people to meet, for the board of the association, and for them to hold meetings, receive theoretic classes, and store the many trophies from 30 years of their lives that are on the shelves at the new headquarters.
Millan points out the City Council of Jaen’s firm commitment to support elite, professional, and grassroots sports. It has provided sponsorships for the brand Jaen, Jaen Autentica and infrastructures at the peak of its achievements, history, and effort as it is with this headquarters.
He recalled, in this context, the ongoing work to adapt La Victoria’s football field with 2.6million, which can be used by different football events. The tender is underway for the new 8-lane track for 1.1million and the works already awarded to repair neighborhood facilities.
