Conservative political strategist Reed Galen asserts that the sessions at the 6-E Commission, a group of congressmen who investigate the attack on the Capitol in January 2021 has had a “devastating effect” on former President Donald Trump’s figure and the leaders of Republicans who “bent his will for the past four years.” Galen, along with other conservatives, is the founder of the Lincoln Project. This laboratory of ideas, and political action, was created in 2019 in order to stop the tycoon from being re-elected. It now focuses on fighting anti-democratic movements within the United States. Galen was a part of the campaigns for George W. Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the late Senator John McCain. He has also been a consultant to the Treasury Department and National Security.
What do you think about the Commission’s public hearings and how did they go?
– His presentation against Trump was devastating. When he denied the electoral fraud, his team had already informed him that the vote count was ineffective. When he refused to accept it, his entire team went into hiding. This opened up the possibility for some ‘enablers’ to continue to fuel the conflict.
– Although the Republicans are now speaking out to distance themselves from those days they spoke nothing then.
This would not have been possible if Mitch McConnell, former Senate leader, or any Republican leader had publicly declared that Joe Biden was the president elect. Congressional Republicans kowtowed (Trump) throughout his four-year term, and they continue to do so until now. They know. They are aware that it was a terrible day, and they nearly died.
– A Trump appears to have fallen into delirium during the investigation.
It was a series of events that allowed Trump into a psychosis, pretending he had been letdown, and all the ‘enablers’ John Eastman (Giuliani), Sydney Powell, Matt Schlapp, who kept feeding him fallacies about a way out. The election should be reversed. All of it culminated in January 6, and the violence we witnessed.
– There were moments when Biden was defeated, like the one by Vice President Mike Pence who legitimized his victory. It is impossible to know what political circumstances would have made us here.
Pence’s refusal to participate in any irrational theory of legality is one of many moments that show how close we have come to disaster. This week, we saw photos of Pence in a marginal area with his wife and daughter. We also saw Trump’s reaction to the photo. We knew he was only 12 meters from the violent ones.

Was the ex-president reckless in launching his rants against some extremists who had in detail planned an operation to seize the building?
Trump was surrounded by people who would give their lives to save him on January 6. He was sitting in a fortress, watching the news as it happened. He never worried about the safety and well-being of others. He also believed that violence was an acceptable form of political activity. This is the thing that worries me most: violence can become a part of the political system’s arteries and it can be very difficult to eradicate.
– How far can the danger go?
– Just recently, we saw how 30 masked men were arrested in Idaho for interrupting a gay pride parade. Or the shooting at Buffalo, which was political (on the racist substitution theory). This extremism needs to be stopped by more police actions.
– Many of these radicals work with the Commission.
– The Three Percenters, the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers worked together to plan the conspiracy. Several of their leaders were charged with sedition in federal court. Many have stopped supporting him and turned against him. This is a good thing if they don’t want to spend 30 years in prison. Although they aren’t people you would like to be around, when it comes to responding to a congressional subpoena everyone begins talking.
John Eastman, a lawyer who promoted the theory of electoral annulment to stop Biden’s win, is a key player in the plot. According to some reports, he presented illegal options to Trump and the Vice-President in a White House meeting.
Greg Jacob (lawyer to Pence) and Eric Hershman, (lawyer to the president), warned Eastman that it was impossible to steal votes from 80 million people. They warned him that there would be blood on the streets. Eastman responded, “Democracy demands street deaths from time-to-time.” The country would have been destroyed if the insurgents had won on Capitol Hill on January 6. Eastman will likely spend a long time in prison. What can you expect of someone who willfully wants to work for Trump?
– The Administration was largely trapped in its bubble.
– Although campaign manager Bill Stepien claimed they were a “normal” team, they only fit into Trump’s world. They are not normal according to any objective standard because they do the same things as normal people. All of them were hiding in the shadows as the situation deteriorated.
– Dance while there’s music.
People were ‘bewitched by Trump’s narcissistic personality. Others became addicted to the chance to spend time in the Oval Office, close to the power. Others believed it was possible to undermine the Constitution and keep Trump at power.
– A large portion of society still believes the ‘big lie’ that fraud is true.
– Political space continues to be affected by the repercussions. The only program that reveals the theft of the 2020 elections is presented to more than 100 Republican candidates. We will see what happens when Trump declares his candidacy to be the next president of the United States in 2024.
